Library

Lists of 717 pieces of media I’ve consumed, logged, and in some cases made notes on.

I've reviewed much of the content within the 5-point rating system and written in detail of how I assign and consider these reviews.

To keep track of the media one has seen is a reasonable task to remain atop of once a framework and intent have been established, but is a difficult task to complete retroactively. Memory is flawed, records fail, physical media perishes, and ticket stubs fade. These records are a best-effort attempt.

I document the media I watch and enjoy for a few reasons. It allows for anchoring points in my life to certain media I’ve experienced. I can remember when I was away somewhere based on the watch date of a film or recall an old memory tied to a piece of media.

It allows me to coordinate what I shall watch/play with others. Rather than a back-and-forth of ‘have you seen/got 𝑥?’, people can reference this library. It also allows people to avoid spoiling things for me, to allow them to recommend media to me, and for me to non-directly recommend media for them.

Indeed, one intention I have in documenting all this media I’ve experienced is to be able to pass it to my chosen LLM to have it perform an analysis, taking into account my notes and ratings to provide tailored recommendations without relying on the algorithm of some third-party silo.
